Our Beginnings

 

"Angler Sports started as an idea, a simple idea, to build a better, more convenient tackle containment system for anglers."

 

I began fishing seriously several years ago. Like so many other anglers I was using the old reliable plastic tackle box that has hardly changed in over 60 years. I found myself growing frustrated quickly with how limiting the box was. I found with one hand taken up by the box I had to make several trips from the truck to the shore, or dock, just to get everything I needed. My hands were always too full. I had also seen several accidents involving anglers with overloaded hands; broken rod tips, gear dropped into the water, or just dropped, period. After investing so much money in quality gear I didn't want to risk the damage that I had seen.

 

I decided to look into the soft side shoulder bags as an alternative. When showing my wife the bag I intended to buy she quickly made a comment that forever changed my life and ideas on tackle boxes. "You are going to buy a shoulder bag? Any woman will tell you that what starts on your shoulder eventually ends up around your elbow. You may have your hands free from your tackle box at first but you will eventually have put your stuff down to get the shoulder bag back on your shoulder." Instantly the idea for Angler Sports was born.

 

It took us over a year of research and development to come up with The Angler's Pack from Angler Sports. For the first time you can have a tackle box that frees up your hands and puts the tackle on your back where it belongs. You can now have the versatility of the soft side bag with the freeing benefits of a backpack. Angler Sports is a small family owned and operated business, and we proudly make our products here in the USA. We stand behind our products and do what we have to to make you, the customer, happy.
